Pre-Operative Conditions

Mr B, 57, enthusiastic accordion player often playing in charity events was suffering from elbow pain and on examination at local hospital was told that he needed shoulder surgery. On examination I diagnosed a form of repetitive strain affecting his elbow and shoulder. Through soft-tissue manipulation he became pain free and was able to re-commence playing his accordion. He decided to cancel his appointment with his orthopaedic surgeon.

Mrs C, 72, originally seen with shoulder pain and loss of movement, she was told she would need an operation by a hospital A and E department. On examination she had reasonable pain free movement which improved with soft tissue treatment. Treatment improved her range of pain free movement to the point she decide that she did not need any further treatment.
