Post-Operative Complications

Mrs A, 83, suffering from post-operative syndrome from two spinal laminectomies. The patient was at the point of taking to a wheel chair because of the pain and limited movement that she experienced. After six weeks of conservative soft-tissue treatment for her hip and lumbar area, advice on movement, posture and exercise, she was able to walk unaided, attend classical music concerts and take part in family functions pain-free. She needs bi-monthly maintenance treatments as continuing support.

Mrs K, 42, assistant nurse, suffering from post-operative complications from hallux valgus (bunion) surgery which was affecting her ability to work. After three sessions of soft tissue manipulation and mobilisation she felt more comfortable and through the exercises and advice about self-treating she was give was able to manage the condition and work more comfortably.
